Slow Healing in Economic Downturn

By Yeis Here

My car was hit by a college student in 2007. I thought because I was a certified health consultant that I'd be up and about within a few weeks. I didn't take into consideration my age, nor did I fully realize the extent of my injuries. In March of this year due to repeated emergency room visits I underwent physical therapy for the second time for these injuries. The 3 week PT lasted 4.5 months! I've developed advanced arthritis at the trauma sites [thoracic and lumbar vertebrae], stenosis at the lumbar vertebrae and bone loss in the pelvic girdle!

I was told not to sit stand or walk for longer than 20 minutes and to recline or lie down for at least 2 hours during the day! Laundry, cooking, driving, shopping were all reduced to a minimum -- and so was my income and lifestyle!

So. . . if you're over 50 and get into an auto accident or have a fall or anytype of injury to your skeletal system, take it from me it can be an absolute nightmare during these economic times because there isn't any viable health care for those that are unemployed/underemployed or under insured!

Meanwhile back at the farm. . . I'm online today trying to play catch up after losing so much traffic to my sites! I'll be limping for the next two days but hopefully won't have to go to the emergency room. . .

Thank you for sharing, Yeis. These tough times are bad enough, without injuries. Hope all is well and you get back to good health.
Best wishes.
