Money -- In The Nick of Time

The traditional jobs for seasonal earnings -- that extra bit of cash to ensure holiday gift giving -- have shriveled and dried up like the Mohave desert! Yet even the Mojave desert has thriving beautiful life forms that adapt to the extreme and harsh conditions there. . . I've had the honor of developing and starting a basic computer course that also encompasses making ea$y income online in partnership with the Greater Lake City Development Corporation, a non-profit organization that assists distressed community members with job readiness, affordable housing and more! These past 3 weeks have shown me the areas that I need to grow in and has also shown me strengths and talents I didn't know I had! The most rewarding aspect of the class I'm teaching is seeing the excitement and hope in the eyes of my students that haven't been able to find a job in years: eyes formerly filled with despair and sorrow. . . These students are feeling empowered to earn income, rather simply, and manage their own internet business with just a few hours of training, coaching and encouragement. I applaud ALL of my students for having the courage to face a new challenge with an eye towards SUCCESS, leaving their past exactly where it belongs -- in the past! Technology, especially the internet, is revolutionizing gainful employment and millions of people don't realize or know what's going on around them! With more than $437 billion dollars being spent online, the internet is far from experiencing a 'recession' as is the 'real world'. A lot of that is because many 'real world' companies are placing traditional jobs online to independent contractors in order to cut costs for medical insurance, pensions, overhead, etc. Also, many new and innovative ways of generating money are popping up online every single day! Currently, my class is focusing on joining ad revenue sharing social sites: they're learning to join the sites, create profiles, upload photos, etc. AND see how marketing dollars are the true source of wealth on websites. With joining the sites being only the first step, my students are also learning 'marketing' skills as they contact family and friends encouraging them to join the sites AND begin 'working' social networking as an enterprise! Of course more extensive marketing tactics will be examined in the upcoming weeks. . .
