Exciting FCC Ruling For The People

While the government may well be the handmaiden to wall street, corporations and miscellaneous power hungry control freaks, one positive FCC ruling was made last Friday! It has been ruled that the, "AWS-3 [Advanced Wireless Service or 2155-2175 MHz] airwave band poses no significant interference with the current broadband already in use by cell phone companies, etc. " In a nutshell, this means that the door is open for bids on the auction of the 2155-2175 public airwaves for those that will develope and provide FREE wireless broadband to the public. Of course the CEO and Co-Founder of the startup company that has been lobbying for such a ruling, have had positions with either the FCC or NASA does lend to their ability to influence such a decision. . . However, within the next few years [hopefully less than the projected 10 years stated in a 2006 RFP to the FCC to make the airwave available] 95% of the American population will have access to FREE wireless broadband. At a time when the American taxpayer is being shafted to pay for the chicanery of the wealthy and extravagant, FREE wireless broadband access for EVERYONE is a good thing to look forward to. . . unless we start thinking about the affect of so much un-natural RF bombarding us. . .
