Being Self-Employed: Get Social - Get Customers!
GETTING THE WORD OUT All business owners recognize the importance of marketing/advertising their business in order to attract customers. Phone directories, print ads, billboards and TV commercials are some of the more traditional marketing methods. For eCommerce and eBusiness owners there is a new avenue that must be considered and factored into the advertising/marketing strategy. Generally, online marketing/advertising vehicles such as banner ads, text ads, digital yellow pages and the like comes to mind. Then, too, business-to-business marketing sites are popular ways of promoting, networking and learning from other webpreneurs/business owners. Sites like Merchant Circle, AdlandPro, Black Business Space and Entrepreneur Connect all provide 'net' space for advertising, discussing and growing your online business venture. (1) So for those of us that are genuine 'artistic types' that utilize monetized blogging to generate income, it is essential to establish and maximize your presence via social networking venues.
