Being Self-Employed: ClickBank Affiliate Program of Choice
My first internet sale was made via ClickBank! Being new to internet marketing of products [as a VA providing business support was my expertise], I tested the waters with a free website that I could monetize. Researching affiliate marketing and seeing that ClickBank consistently got rave reviews I decided to go with them first.
AFFILIATION To become a ClickBank Affiliate is FREE, as in no cost to you. In fact to become a publisher [provider of a digital product or service] is FREE until you make a sale! As an affiliate, once your account is established, all that is required is a visit to the 'marketplace' to scan products to promote on your site/blog. ClickBank provides product descriptions, conversion rates AND payout percentages to affiliates along with links to the products' "pitch page" where you can view exactly what your site's visitors will see when they click on the product link! This is a feature I really appreciate because some descriptions sound like items I want to promote but when I view the "pitch page" it isn't in keeping with the overall tone and intent of my sites' services.
SET-UP It's extremely simple to set up an account: provide your name, email address, name of your business [if you have one], payment address and phone number. You can even select a payment payout 'threshold' which means you decide the amount that you want to receive via check on a monthly basis!
MEMBER SERVICE Over the months ClickBank has made steady improvements to the site which benefits both affiliates and publishers, such as more efficient reporting information, better ways to track products/sales and more. Customer service is excellent in that the response time is swift and concerns are resolved with exceptional ease.
